Fairview High School Library Addition
Boulder, CO COThe Library/Integrated Media Center (IMC) was designed by OZ Architecture to become the academic heart of Fairview High School. Design work included positioning the IMC in a highly-visible location to take advantage of the schools spectacular setting and views at the base of the Flatirons. The IMC was also placed to afford easy accessibility from the school's student center. Besides creating an avenue leading to the IMC, the new, wider corridors provide access to floor/crawl space for easier distribution of computer cables and other high-tech equipment. The IMC includes a special 'college counseling room' for seniors and a Distance Learning Center that provides students a place to study courses and subjects from around the country via computer networking. Another unique feature of the IMC is the student meeting room that provides a private location for small group meetings. The six new science labs and the new computer lab were included in the remodel in addition to the school's science room.
